Sawblade sharpening, circular saw blades, band saw blades

Ernest Bennett founded Ernest Bennett (Sheffield) Ltd in 1956 to service and maintain all types of Industrial Saw Blades and cutting tools, primarily wide bandsaws and circular saws, for which Sheffield was the world centre with its' strong steel making tradition. The company progressed into manufacturing shortly afterwards. In 1964 the need arose for a facility in the North of England and Ernest opened Ernest Bennett & Co. (Darlington) Ltd with his nephew, Rob Maxey, to service the needs of the North of England, Scotland and Ireland. With over 50 years experience in manufacturing and servicing saw blades Ernest Bennett are the largest manufacturer of Industrial Saws in the UK, with over 100 people employed at the two sites. We are committed to providing Industrial Quality sawblades to all our customers, whether they are DIY enthusiasts or High Production Industrial Manufacturers. Our commitment to Quality and Service remain the same and we have continually invested in the most up to date equipment and facilities to enable us to achieve our objectives.

We use only the best quality materials, from established European suppliers, to produce saw blades with Precision and Durability.

New factory for Ernest Bennett Saws

Ernest Bennett have been manufacturing and servicing saw blades since 1956 at their factory near Sheffield, but having outgrown the 1 acre site have now moved to a new purpose built 30,000 ft factory on 2.5 acres.
The new factory was commissioned in March 2008, to be built at the former Dinnington Colliery site, on 2.5 acres of land purchased from Renaissance South Yorkshire. Building commenced in May, using local Sheffield builder David Farmery, and was completed in November 2008.

Planner blades, woodworking tooling all from our factory. Specialists in sawblade sharpening

The move was planned for the second week in December and went relatively smoothly considering there were 170 machines to move. The Chairman, Martyn Bennett, says “the entire workforce worked especially hard to keep production going as much as possible and get the machines moved and up and running again. The move was completed in 2 weeks, which took us up to Christmas. Full production was running again when we returned in January.”

The new facility has improved Ernest Bennett’s production capabilities for Wide Bandsaws and TCT Circular Saws, with improved work flow leading to leaner manufacturing processes and increased stock levels. The new factory is 75% bigger than the old facility and has plenty of room for expansion in the future.
